An Overview of Southeast Digital Networks, Inc.
In 1984, Standard Business Machines & Service, Inc. was
created to sell, service and support office automation systems. In 1984,
office automation systems were relatively simple. Your choices were
mechanical or electronic typewriters. Not so today! In the last several
years the office automation market has exploded to include a myriad of new
tools such as computers, networks, fax machines, the internet, etc. That is
just to name a few. We felt it necessary, in February 2001, to change the
name of the business from “Standard Business Machines & Service, Inc.” to
“Southeast Digital Networks, Inc.”, in order to more accurately reflect the
products and services that we now offer. Our philosophy at Southeast
Digital Networks, Inc. is to offer state of the art, turnkey solutions for
business.
Mitchell Hicks and Wayne Lindsey were the founding fathers
of Standard Business Machines. In 1993, Rodney Watts purchased stock in
Standard Business Machines and brought with him many years of experience and
an exceptional marketing ability in the office automation field. It
was apparent to Rodney Watts that if the company continued on just
supporting the typewriter market that Standard Business Machines was doomed
to fail because the office automation market was quickly evolving and
typewriters were becoming an item of the past. Eventually, Mitchell Hicks
and Wayne Lindsey retired and in 1996, Rodney brought an electrical
engineer, Sidney Watts, with many years of experience in the computer and
electronics field to Standard Business Machines to help him reinvent the
company. This symbiotic relationship proved to be a very successful one and
Southeast Digital Networks, Inc. continues to grow and evolve with the market.
Our success, we believe, has been due to our number one
priority of commitment to customer satisfaction, and our ability to master
and implement the ever-changing technologies and applying them as unique
solutions to our customers on an individual basis to help them compete in an
ever increasingly competitive world.
We now have an impressive staff of professional and
dedicated engineers, engineering technologists, market analysts,
technicians, and administrative personnel.
Now, Southeast Digital Networks, Inc. is at a point where we have established a good reputation in the office automation market for
quality service and support of the new market technologies and have acquired
a substantial customer base. Southeast Digital Networks, Inc. will continue
to push the envelope and exploit the new and emerging technologies and
provide our customers with unique solutions on an individual basis.
